Y2K has seen the publication of two ground breaking books … materials which
challenge historic assumptions and forecast troublesome outcomes for firms which fail to
adapt. The discussion in this monograph examines traditional big firm law practice in light
of the challenges identified in Richard Susskind’s Transforming The Law1 and Dick Foster’s and Sara Kaplan’s Creative Destruction. Since a jeremiad (such as the following) is incomplete without a suggested solution, the VC Experts’ model, including the Venture Capital Archive, is proposed as the suggested agent of change, the “creatively destructive” paradigm which will enable law firms to survive the “transformation” Dr. Susskind predicts.
